মঙ্গলবার ম্যাচের আগের সংবাদ সম্মেলনে জিদানে তার ভবিষ্যৎ ক্লাবের ওপর ছেড়ে দিলেন, ‘ক্লাব তাই করবে, যা তাদের করা দরকার, যেমনটা সবসময় করে। আমি কেবল কালকের ম্যাচ নিয়েই ভাবছি। কিন্তু আমি ওটা (বরখাস্তের সম্ভাবনা) নিয়ে ভাবি না। অতীত অতীতের মতো থাক, গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাপার হলো বর্তমান ও ভবিষ্যৎ। দল হিসেবে আমরা কেমন, সেটা এই ম্যাচে দেখাতে হবে। আমি আশাবাদী একটি দল হিসেবে আমরা ভালো কিছু করবো।’
তৃতীয় স্থানে থাকলে রিয়ালকে খেলতে হবে ইউরোপা লিগ। তবে চারে গ্রুপের খেলা শেষ করলে এখানেই থামবে তাদের ইউরোপিয়ান ফুটবলের অভিযাত্রা। রিয়াল মিডফিল্ডার কাসেমিরোর মতে, শেষ ষোলোতে ওঠা না হলে একেবারে ইউরোপিয়ান মঞ্চ থেকে বিদায়ের চেয়ে তিনি ইউরোপা লিগ জেতার জন্য খেলতে চান। তবে জিদানে কেবল গ্লাদবাখের ম্যাচটি নিয়ে ভাবছেন, ‘আমি ইউরোপা লিগ নিয়ে চিন্তা করছি না। আমি আর কোনও কিছু (গ্লাদবাখের বিপক্ষে খেলা ছাড়া) ভাবছি না। খেলোয়াড়দের মনেও একই ভাবনা।’
